About Fashion and Garment Making Lesson Notes
Fashion and Garment Making is a practical senior secondary subject about designing, making and caring for clothes. These notes cover SS1 to SS3, starting with the history of fashion, sewing tools, workshop safety, fibres and fabrics, and textile care.
Later notes deal with stitches, seams, pressing, body measurements, pattern drafting and garment construction, then collars, sleeves, fastenings, pockets and linings. The upper classes cover fashion illustration, colour and design, Nigerian traditional clothing, contemporary African fashion, tailoring business, customer relations, ICT in fashion, and SSCE preparation with mock projects.

- Take body measurements and draft, alter and lay out patterns for cutting
- Construct a shirt and a complete outfit, including collars, sleeves, pockets, fastenings and linings
