What is Drama?
Drama is acting out stories with people, costumes, and sounds.
5 Main Elements of Drama
- Characters
The people in the story (actors)
- Setting
Where and when the story happens
- Plot
What happens in the story (beginning, middle, end)
- Dialogue
What the characters say to each other
- Theme
The lesson or message of the story
EXERCISES
Exercise 1: Fill in the Blanks
- The people who act in a drama are called ________
- The place where a story happens is called the ________
- What characters say to each other is called ________
Exercise 2: Match the Elements
Draw lines to match:
- Characters → What happens in the story
- Plot → The people in the drama
- Setting → Where the story takes place
Exercise 3: Create Your Own
Think of your favorite story. Write:
- Who are the characters? ________________
- Where does it happen? ________________
- What is the main message? ________________
Exercise 4: Act It Out!
With a friend, act out a simple scene about:
- Two friends sharing food
- A child helping an elder
- Animals in the forest
