What is Life Drawing?

Life drawing is the art of drawing the human body from observation. It helps artists understand body proportions, shapes, and movements.
Parts of the Human Body:

- Head (eyes, nose, mouth, ears)
- Neck
- Torso (chest, waist)
- Arms (upper arm, forearm, hands)
- Legs (thigh, shin, feet)
Basic Human Proportions:
- The human body is about 7-8 heads tall
- Arms span equals body height
- The halfway point of the body is at the hips
Steps to Sketch a Human Figure:
- Start with basic shapes (oval for head, rectangles for torso)
- Add connecting lines for limbs
- Refine the shapes
- Add details like facial features
- Erase construction lines
