Content:

Definition of Tie and Dye: Tie and dye is a fabric decoration method where parts of the fabric are tied and then dyed to create patterns.

Materials Needed:

  1. White cotton fabric
  2. Fabric dye
  3. String or rubber bands
  4. Buckets
  5. Gloves
  6. Water

Steps in Tie and Dye:

  1. Prepare the Fabric: Wash the fabric.
  2. Fold and Tie the Fabric: Fold or twist the fabric and tie it with string or rubber bands.
  3. Prepare the Dye: Mix the dye with water in buckets.
  4. Dye the Fabric: Dip the tied fabric into the dye.
  5. Set the Dye: Leave the fabric in the dye for the recommended time.
  6. Rinse and Dry: Rinse the fabric in cold water and let it dry.

  • Purpose: It creates beautiful patterns on clothes and other fabrics.

  • Dye: Fabric dyes in different colors. 
  • String or Rubber Bands: For tying the fabric. 
  • Buckets: For mixing dyes. 
  • Gloves: To protect your hands from dye. 
  • Water: For mixing dye and rinsing fabric.
