DEFINITIONS
INTERMARRIAGE (Inter-ethnic Marriage): Marriage between people from different ethnic groups, tribes, or cultures.
Example:
- Yoruba man marrying Igbo woman

- Hausa woman marrying Edo man

- Nigerian marrying foreigner
INTRA-ETHNIC MARRIAGE: Marriage between people from the same ethnic group or tribe.
Example:
- Yoruba marrying Yoruba
- Igbo marrying Igbo
- Hausa marrying Hausa
ADVANTAGES OF INTERMARRIAGE
- National Unity:
- Brings tribes together
- Reduces tribalism
- Promotes peace
- Cultural Exchange:
- Learn new culture
- Speak multiple languages
- Rich family traditions
- Children are bilingual/multilingual
- Wider Perspective:
- Understand different viewpoints
