Things to Pray for at All Times

Daily Needs

We should pray for these things every day:

Food and Water:

  • Ask God to provide our daily meals
  • Pray for clean water to drink
  • Thank God for the food we have
  • Pray for hungry people around the world

Safety and Protection:

  • Ask God to keep us safe at home
  • Pray for protection while traveling
  • Ask God to guard us from accidents
  • Pray for safety at school and play

Health and Strength:

  • Ask God to keep our bodies healthy
  • Pray for healing when we are sick
  • Ask God to give us energy for daily activities
  • Pray for doctors and nurses who help sick people

Clothing and Shelter:

  • Thank God for clothes to wear
  • Ask God to provide for families without homes
  • Pray for warm clothes in cold weather
  • Thank God for our houses and beds

Spiritual Needs

These are things our souls need:

Forgiveness of Sins:

  • Ask God to forgive our wrong actions
  • Pray for a clean heart
  • Ask God to help us not sin again
  • Thank God for Jesus who died for our sins

Wisdom and Understanding:

  • Ask God to help us make good choices
  • Pray for understanding when reading the Bible
  • Ask God to help us know right from wrong
  • Pray for wisdom in solving problems

Faith and Trust:

  • Ask God to strengthen our belief in Him
  • Pray for trust when we are worried
  • Ask God to help us have faith during hard times
  • Pray for courage to follow Jesus

Love for Others:

  • Ask God to help us love difficult people
  • Pray for kind hearts toward everyone
  • Ask God to help us forgive those who hurt us
  • Pray for patience with annoying people

Emotional Needs

Things that help our hearts feel good:

Peace and Comfort:

  • Ask God for peace when we are worried
  • Pray for comfort during sad times
  • Ask God to calm our fears
  • Pray for rest when we are troubled

Joy and Happiness:

  • Ask God to fill our hearts with joy
  • Pray for reasons to be happy
  • Ask God to help us see good things in life
  • Thank God for laughter and fun times

Hope and Encouragement:

  • Ask God for hope when things look bad
  • Pray for encouragement during failures
  • Ask God to help us not give up
  • Pray for strength to keep trying

Relationship Needs

Things that help us get along with others:

Family Relationships:

  • Pray for love and unity in our family
  • Ask God to help parents and children understand each other
  • Pray for peace during family disagreements
  • Ask God to bless our family with happiness

Friendships:

  • Ask God to help us be good friends
  • Pray for loyalty and trust in friendships
  • Ask God to help us choose good friends
  • Pray for fun and safe times with friends

School Relationships:

  • Ask God to help us respect our teachers
  • Pray for kindness toward all classmates
  • Ask God to help us work well in groups
  • Pray for understanding when we have conflicts

 

Importance of Prayer for Our Needs

God Cares About Our Needs

Why this is important:

  • God is like a loving Father who wants to provide for His children
  • He knows what we need before we ask
  • God enjoys giving good things to His children
  • Prayer shows we trust God to take care of us

Bible verse: “And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19)

Prayer Brings God’s Help

How prayer helps:

  • God answers prayers and provides what we need
  • Prayer opens the door for God’s blessings
  • God works miracles when we pray
  • Prayer connects us to God’s unlimited power

Example: When we pray for healing, God can heal us or give doctors wisdom to help us

Prayer Gives Us Peace

Why we feel better after praying:

  • We feel calm knowing God is in control

Bible verse: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God” (Philippians 4:6)
