Topic: Paul’s Conversion

Behavioural Objectives:

By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to:

  1. Recall how Saul encountered Jesus on the road to Damascus.
  2. Explain how Saul’s life changed after his conversion.
  3. Describe how Paul began to preach about Jesus Christ.
  4. List the qualities of a changed/transformed person using Paul as an example.

Instructional Materials:

  • Bible (Acts 9:1-20)
  • Picture chart of Saul’s conversion
  • Flashcards with keywords: Conversion, Repentance, Preach, Miracle
  • Role-play costume props (to act out Paul’s preaching)

Entry Behaviour:

Pupils already know that God empowered Christians before for their Jesus and they’re what life is Paul.

 

Set Induction (Introduction):

Teacher says:

“Imagine someone who used to fight against Christians now becomes one of the greatest teachers of the gospel. That’s what happened to Saul – who later became Paul!”

 

Lesson Development:

Step 1: Recap of Saul’s Encounter with Jesus

Before his conversion:

  • Saul was on his way to Damascus to arrest more Oriental Christians.
  • A bright light shone from heaven, and he heard the voice of Jesus.
  • He became blind and was led to Damascus.
  • A man named Ananias was sent by God to restore his sight.

Bible Reading: Acts 9:1-19

Key Point: Saul met Who with the Holy Spirit and became

Step 2: Saul Begins a New Life as Paul

Conclusion:

The teacher emphasizes that just like Saul became Paul, God can change anyone who truly repents and accepts Jesus Christ. We should never give up on people because God’s power can transform any heart.

Assignment:

  1. Write about a time when you changed from doing something wrong to doing right.
  2. Draw two pictures: “Before Jesus” and “After Jesus” showing Paul’s transformation.
  3. Memorize Acts 9:15.
