Lesson Content
What is Salvation?
- Salvation means to be saved or rescued
- It means God saves us from our sins
- It means being rescued from punishment for doing wrong
- It means getting a new life with God
- It’s like being pulled out of deep water when you can’t swim
The Problem That Needed Salvation:
- When Adam and Eve sinned, sin came into the world
- All people after them were born with sin
- Sin separates us from God
- The punishment for sin is death
- People could not save themselves from sin
God’s Promise of Salvation (Genesis 3:15):
The First Promise:
- Right after Adam and Eve sinned, God made a promise
- God said to the serpent: “I will put hatred between you and the woman”
- “Between your offspring and hers”
- “He will crush your head, and you will strike his heel”
- This meant someone from Eve’s family would defeat Satan
What This Promise Meant:
- God would send someone special to save people
- This person would be born from a woman
- He would defeat Satan and sin
- He would get hurt in the process (strike his heel)
- But He would win completely (crush Satan’s head)
How God’s Promise Came True:
Throughout History:
- God chose Abraham and promised to bless all nations through his family
- God chose the nation of Israel to bring the Savior
- God sent prophets to tell people about the coming Savior
- The prophets said the Savior would be born of a virgin
- They said He would die for people’s sins and rise again
Jesus is the Fulfillment:
- Jesus is the special person God promised to send
- Jesus was born of the virgin Mary
- Jesus lived a perfect life without sin
- Jesus died on the cross to pay for our sins
- Jesus rose from the dead, defeating Satan and death
- Through Jesus, we can be saved from sin
The Importance of Salvation:

- We all do wrong things
- Sin separates us from God
- Salvation forgives our sins
- We can have a clean heart before God
- It Gives Us Eternal Life:
- Without salvation, we would die forever

- Death is not the end for saved people
- We will go to heaven when we die
