Learning Objectives: By the end of this lesson, pupils should be able to:

collect and identify soil type (loamy)
examine to identify the organisms in the soil
describe the texture, color and size of the soil particles

Lesson Content: Loamy Soil: The best type of soil for growing plants. It is a mixture of sand, clay, and organic matter.

Characteristics:

Texture: Soft and crumbly
Color: Dark brown or rich black
Particles: Mixed sizes – large and small
Organisms: Earthworms, small insects, bacteria
