What is Mass?

Mass is how heavy something is. When we weigh things, we find their mass.

• Kitchen scale – for food items

• Bathroom scale – for people

• Balance scale – compares two things

Units of Mass

• Gram (g) – for light things like sugar
• Kilogram (kg) – for heavy things like a bag of rice
• 1 kilogram = 1000 grams
