Topic: Staying Safe

What is Safety?

Safety means protecting ourselves from getting hurt. We need to be careful everywhere we go.

Safety at School

In the Classroom:

• Sit properly on your chair
• Don’t run inside the classroom
• Keep your bag on the floor
• Ask before touching things

In the Playground:

• Wait for your turn on swings
• Don’t push other children
• Play gently with friends
• Tell the teacher if someone gets hurt

Safety at Home

Inside the House:

• Don’t play with sharp things
• Stay away from hot stoves
• Don’t put small things in your mouth
• Hold the stair rail when going up or down

Outside the House:

• Hold an adult’s hand when crossing roads
• Don’t talk to strangers
• Stay close to your parents
• Don’t pick up things from the ground

Safety Rules to Remember

Always Remember:

• Look before you cross
• Walk, don’t run indoors
• Tell an adult if you feel unsafe
• Keep your hands clean
• Listen to safety instructions

Let’s practice being safe:

• Walk properly around the classroom
• Show how to sit safely on a chair
• Practice holding hands when “crossing a road”
• Point out safe and unsafe things in pictures
