What are Senses?

Senses are special abilities our body has to know what is happening around us. They help us learn about our environment.
The Five Senses:
- Sight (Seeing)
- Hearing (Listening)
- Smell (Smelling)
- Taste (Tasting)
- Touch (Feeling)
Organs of Sense:
- Eyes – for seeing (sense of sight)
- Ears – for hearing sounds (sense of hearing)
- Nose – for smelling odors (sense of smell)
- Tongue – for tasting food (sense of taste)
- Skin – for feeling and touching (sense of touch)
How Each Sense Helps Us:
- Eyes: See colors, shapes, and sizes of things
- Ears: Hear music, voices, and warning sounds
- Nose: Smell flowers, food, and dangerous things
- Tongue: Taste sweet, sour, bitter, and salty foods
- Skin: Feel hot, cold, soft, hard, and rough things
Matching Senses to Organs:
- I see with my EYES
- I hear with my EARS
- I smell with my NOSE
- I taste with my TONGUE
- I feel with my SKIN
