Review of Rhythmic Activities Rhythmic activities are body movements performed in a pattern with music or beat.

More Types of Rhythmic Activities

  1. Clapping – Using hands to create rhythm

  1. Stamping – Using feet to create rhythm

  1. Swaying – Moving body side to side
  2. Jumping – Both feet leaving the ground

 

  1. Running in place – Running without moving forward

Creating Rhythmic Patterns

  • Combine different movements (clap-stamp-hop)
  • Use music with different tempos (slow/fast)
  • Work individually or in groups
  • Create simple dance routines

Activities

  • Create a class rhythm pattern
  • Perform rhythmic activities to different music
  • Group performances
  • Rhythm games
