What We Will Learn Today

  • The dangerous escape from Makkah
  • The miracle in Cave Thawr
  • The journey to Madinah
  • The warm welcome in Madinah

The Great Escape

The Evil Plan:

  • The leaders of Makkah made a plan to kill Prophet Muhammad (SAW)
  • They surrounded his house at night
  • They chose men from different tribes to attack together
  • But Allah warned the Prophet about their plan through Angel Jibrīl

The Clever Escape:

  • Prophet Muhammad (SAW) asked his cousin Ali (RA) to sleep in his bed
  • Ali (RA) bravely agreed to help
  • The Prophet quietly left his house while the enemies waited outside
  • He went to Abu Bakr’s (RA) house
  • Together they escaped into the night

The Direction:

  • Instead of going straight to Madinah, they went south first
  • This was very smart because the enemies expected them to go north
  • They planned to hide until it was safe to travel

The Miracle in Cave Thawr

Hiding in the Cave:

  • The Prophet (SAW) and Abu Bakr (RA) hid in Cave Thawr
  • They stayed there for three days and three nights
  • The enemies searched everywhere for them

Abu Bakr’s Fear:

  • Abu Bakr (RA) was worried: “O Prophet, what if they find us?”
  • The Prophet (SAW) said: “Don’t worry, Allah is with us”
  • The Prophet was calm because he trusted Allah completely

Allah’s Protection:

  • Allah sent a spider to make a web across the cave entrance
  • A bird came and made its nest at the entrance
  • When the enemies came to the cave, they saw the spider web and bird’s nest
  • They said: “No one has entered here recently” and went away
  • Allah saved them!

The Journey to Madinah

The Guide:

  • After three days, they left the cave
  • A guide named Abdullah ibn Urayqit showed them the way
  • They took a secret route through the desert
  • The journey was long and tiring

On the Road:

  • They traveled mostly at night to avoid enemies
  • During the day, they rested in safe places
  • Abu Bakr’s family brought them food and news
  • Allah protected them throughout the journey

Getting Close:

  • As they got near Madinah, people were excited
  • Everyone was looking out for the Prophet
  • Children climbed on rooftops to see him coming

The Warm Welcome in Madinah

The Joyful Arrival:

  • The people of Madinah were so happy to see the Prophet
  • They sang songs of welcome: “Tala’al Badru Alayna” (The full moon has risen upon us)
  • Children and adults came out to greet him
  • It was like a big celebration!

Where to Stay:

  • Everyone wanted the Prophet to stay in their house
  • The Prophet let his camel Qaswa choose where to stop
  • The camel stopped at a place that belonged to two orphan boys
  • The Prophet bought the land and decided to build a mosque there

The New Beginning:

  • This was the start of the Islamic Calendar (1 A.H.)
  • Muslims could finally practice their religion freely

  • Madinah became the center of Islam
