Topic: Jesus: the Bread of Life

What We Will Learn Today

  • Why Jesus calls Himself the Bread of Life
  • How Jesus feeds our souls like bread feeds our bodies
  • What it means to be spiritually hungry

The Story

One day, Jesus fed 5,000 people with just five loaves of bread and two fish. After this miracle, many people followed Jesus because they wanted more free food.

Jesus knew their hearts. He told them, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry.”

The people were confused. They thought Jesus was talking about regular bread. But Jesus was teaching them something much more important.

What Jesus Meant:

Just like our bodies need food to live and grow, our souls need Jesus to live and grow spiritually.

  • Regular bread feeds our bodies for a few hours
  • Jesus, the Bread of Life feeds our souls forever

When we eat bread:

  • It makes us strong
  • It helps us grow
  • It takes away hunger
  • We feel satisfied

When we “eat” Jesus (believe in Him):

  • He makes our spirits strong
  • He helps us grow in faith
  • He takes away our spiritual hunger
  • We feel satisfied and happy

People who don’t know Jesus are spiritually hungry. They try to fill their hearts with toys, games, or other things, but only Jesus can truly satisfy them.

When we read the Bible, pray, and spend time with Jesus, it’s like eating spiritual bread. We grow stronger in our faith.

What We Learned

  • Jesus is the Bread of Life
  • Our souls need Jesus like our bodies need food
  • Only Jesus can satisfy our spiritual hunger
  • We “eat” Jesus by believing in Him and spending time with Him
  • Jesus gives us spiritual strength to grow
