The Story

Jesus told His followers a special story about shepherds and sheep. He said, “I am the Good Shepherd.”

In Bible times, shepherds took care of sheep. Let’s see what shepherds do:

• They feed their sheep
• They protect them from danger
• They guide them to safe places
• They look for lost sheep
• They know each sheep by name

Jesus said He is like a shepherd, and we are like His sheep. Just as a shepherd loves and cares for his sheep, Jesus loves and cares for us.

How Jesus is Our Good Shepherd:

• He feeds us with His Word (the Bible)
• He protects us from harm
• He guides us in the right way
• He looks for us when we go astray
• He knows each of us by name

Jesus also said, “The good shepherd gives his life for the sheep.” This means Jesus loved us so much that He died on the cross to save us.

A good shepherd never leaves his sheep alone. In the same way, Jesus promises never to leave us. He is always with us to help, protect, and guide us.

When we follow Jesus, we are safe in His care. We can trust Him because He is the Good Shepherd who loves us very much.
