What We Will Learn Today

The Story

Long, long ago, after Adam and Eve disobeyed God in the Garden of Eden, sin entered the world. People became separated from God because of their wrong choices.

But God loved people so much that He made a special promise. He promised to send someone who would save people from their sins.

This special person would be called the Saviour. The word “Saviour” means “someone who saves or rescues.”

God told many prophets about this promise:

• He would be born in Bethlehem
• He would be born of a virgin
• He would heal sick people
• He would teach about God’s love
• He would die to save people from sin
• He would come back to life

For many, many years, God’s people waited for this promised Saviour. They read the prophecies and hoped He would come soon.

Some people called Him the Messiah, which means “the chosen one.”

Then one day, God kept His promise! He sent His own Son, Jesus Christ, to be the Saviour of the world.

Jesus did everything the prophets said He would do. He was born in Bethlehem, taught people about God, healed the sick, died on the cross for our sins, and rose from the dead.

God always keeps His promises!
