Introduction

Supplementary reading helps children develop better reading skills and understanding. It means reading extra books apart from your main textbook to learn new things and have fun.

Content Development

Sample Story: “The Kind Little Bird”

Once upon a time, there was a little bird named Chirpy. Chirpy lived in a big tree with her family. One day, she saw an old man sitting under the tree looking very sad and hungry.

Chirpy felt sorry for the old man. She flew to her nest and brought some seeds she had been saving. She dropped the seeds near the old man. The old man smiled and ate the seeds. He felt much better.

The next day, the old man came back with a bag of bird seeds for Chirpy and her family. Chirpy learned that when we are kind to others, kindness comes back to us.

Discussion Points:

1. Who was the main character? (Chirpy the bird)
2. What problem did the old man have? (He was sad and hungry)
3. How did Chirpy help? (She shared her seeds)
4. What happened after Chirpy helped? (The old man brought more seeds)
