Learning Objectives

Introduction

The alphabet is made up of 26 letters. Today we focus on the first three letters: a, b, c.

Content Development

Letter Recognition:

Letter ‘a’ (A):

• Capital A looks like a tent: A
• Small a looks like a circle with a line: a
• Objects starting with ‘a’: apple, ant, airplane, alligator

Letter ‘b’ (B):

• Capital B has two bumps: B
• Small b has one bump on the right: b
• Objects starting with ‘b’: ball, book, bird, banana

Letter ‘c’ (C):

• Capital C looks like a moon: C
• Small c is smaller but same shape: c
• Objects starting with ‘c’: cat, car, cake, cup

Alphabet Song: 🎵 “A is for apple, red and sweet, B is for ball we kick with feet, C is for cat that says meow, Let’s sing our letters, here’s how!” 🎵

Letter Formation Practice:

Letter ‘a’:

• Start at the middle line
• Make a circle
• Add a straight line down

Letter ‘b’:

• Start at the top line
• Make a straight line down
• Add a bump on the right

Letter ‘c’:

• Start like making a circle
• Don’t close it – leave it open

Matching Activity: Match letters with objects:

• a → apple, ant
• b → ball, book
• c → cat, car

Match the letter to the picture:

1. Draw a line from ‘a’ to apple
2. Draw a line from ‘b’ to ball
3. Draw a line from ‘c’ to cat

Write the missing letters:

Draw and color:
