LESSON CONTENT

What are Government Rules?

Government rules are important laws made by the people who lead our country.

Everyone in Nigeria must follow these rules.

The government makes these rules to keep everyone safe and happy.

Results of Not Obeying Government Rules:

When people break government rules, they get serious punishment.

1. IMPRISONMENT

• Going to jail (prison)
• Being locked up for many days, months, or years
• Not being able to go home to family
• Missing important things in life

2. PAYMENT OF FINES

• Paying money as punishment
• Giving money to the government
• Sometimes very expensive
• Makes people lose their money

3. OTHER PUNISHMENTS

• Losing your job
• People not trusting you anymore
• Having a bad name in the community
• Not being allowed to do certain things

Examples of Government Rules:

• Do not steal from others
• Do not hurt other people
• Follow traffic rules on the road
• Pay your taxes
• Do not destroy public property

Why We Must Obey:

• To stay free and happy
• To keep our money
• To have a good name
• To help our country grow
• To be good citizens

Remember: It is always better to OBEY government rules than to face these serious punishments!
