LESSON CONTENT

What is Public Enlightenment?

Public enlightenment means teaching people important information to keep them safe and healthy.

It helps everyone in the community learn about dangers and how to stay safe.

HIV/AIDS (Simple Facts for Children):

HIV/AIDS is a sickness that makes people very weak.

Important things to know:

• It is a disease that hurts the body
• Sick people need our love and care
• We should not be mean to people with HIV/AIDS
• We should be kind and help them
• Doctors and nurses take care of sick people

How to Stay Healthy:

• Eat good food
• Keep our body clean
• Go to hospital when sick
• Listen to doctors and nurses

Drug Abuse and Its Hazards:

Drug abuse means taking bad medicines or harmful things that hurt our body.

Examples of Dangerous Things:

• Taking medicine that is not yours

• Drinking alcohol (beer, wine)

• Smoking cigarettes

• Taking unknown tablets or powders

Hazards (Dangers) of Drug Abuse:

• Makes you very sick
• Hurts your brain and body
• Makes you do bad things
• Can make you die
• Makes your family sad

How to Stay Safe:

• Only take medicine adults give you
• Say “NO” to bad things
• Tell adults if someone offers you drugs
• Stay away from people doing bad things
