Ways Civic Education is Important at School:

1. Teaches Good Behavior

• How to be polite to teachers and friends
• How to share things with classmates
• How to say “please” and “thank you”

2. Helps Us Follow School Rules

• Come to school on time
• Keep our classroom clean
• Listen when teachers are teaching

3. Teaches Us to Respect Others

• Respect our teachers and elders
• Be kind to all our classmates
• Help friends who need help

4. Makes Us Good Leaders

• Learn to be class monitor
• Help organize school activities
• Take care of school property

Rights of a Child:

Rights are things children are allowed to have or do.

Every child has the right to:

• Go to school and learn

• Have food and water

• Have a safe place to live

• Play and rest

• Get medical care when sick

• Be protected from harm

Rights of a Citizen:

Citizens also have rights in their country:

• Right to vote when grown up
• Right to move around freely
• Right to say what they think
• Right to practice their religion
• Right to own things
• Right to be treated fairly
