LESSON CONTENT

A. MEANING OF COOKING TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT

  • Cooking Tools are small hand-held items used in food preparation and cooking
  • Cooking Equipment are larger items, often electrical, used for cooking and food storage

B. SIMPLE COOKING TOOLS

  1. Cutting and Chopping Tools
  • Knife – for cutting vegetables, meat, and fruits
  • Chopping board – surface for cutting food safely

  • Grater – for grating vegetables like carrots and onions
  • Peeler – for removing skin from fruits and vegetables

  1. Mixing and Stirring Tools
  • Wooden spoon – for stirring food while cooking

  • Whisk – for beating eggs and mixing ingredients
  • Spatula – for turning food and scraping bowls

  • Mixing bowl – for combining ingredients
  1. Measuring Tools
  • Measuring cup – for measuring liquids
  • Measuring spoons – for measuring small amounts
