What is Design?
Design is how we make things look beautiful and organized using different parts.
7 Basic Elements of Design
- Line

Straight, curved, thick, or thin marks
- Examples: ——— ~~~~~ /////
- Shape

Flat forms like circles, squares, triangles
- Examples: ○ □ △
- Form

3D objects like balls, boxes, pyramids
- Examples: sphere, cube, cone
- Color

Red, blue, yellow, green, and all other colors
- Texture
How things feel – smooth, rough, soft, hard
- Space
Empty areas around and between objects
- Value
Light and dark – how bright or dim something is
