What is Drama?

Drama is:
- Acting out a story with different characters
- Pretending to be someone else to tell a story
- A story performed by people instead of just told
- Acting where people play different roles
Simple Definition: Drama = Acting out stories
Key Parts of Drama:
- Story – what happens in the drama
- Characters – the people in the story (real or imaginary)
- Actors – people who pretend to be the characters
- Dialogue – what the characters say to each other
- Action – what the characters do
Examples of Drama:
- School plays during assembly or cultural day
