What is the Environment?

The environment is everything around us – air, water, land, plants, animals, and people.

Why Care for Our Environment?

• To keep it clean and healthy
• To protect plants and animals
• To have fresh air and clean water
• For future children to enjoy

Ways to Care for Our Environment

1. Keep It Clean

• Don’t throw rubbish anywhere
• Use dustbins properly
• Clean up after yourself

2. Save Water

• Turn off taps when not using
• Don’t waste water when bathing
• Fix leaking pipes

3. Plant Trees and Flowers

• Trees give us fresh air
• Plants make places beautiful
• They provide shade

4. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

• Use less plastic bags
• Use things again before throwing away
• Separate waste properly

5. Protect Animals

• Don’t hurt animals
• Don’t destroy their homes
• Feed birds and pets properly

6. Save Energy

• Turn off lights when leaving rooms
• Don’t waste electricity
• Use natural light when possible
