What are Colours?

Colours are what we see that make things beautiful – like red, blue, yellow, and green.

Types of Colours

Primary Colours

The main colours that cannot be made by mixing:

  • Red 🔴
  • Blue 🔵
  • Yellow 🟡

Secondary Colours

Made by mixing two primary colours:

  • Green (Blue + Yellow) 🟢
  • Orange (Red + Yellow) 🟠
  • Purple (Red + Blue) 🟣

Warm Colours

Colours that feel hot like fire:

  • Red, Orange, Yellow

Cool Colours

Colours that feel cold like water:

  • Blue, Green, Purple

What is Texture?

Texture is how things feel when you touch them.

Types of Texture

Smooth Texture

Feels flat and even

  • Examples: Glass, mirror, smooth paper

Rough Texture

Feels bumpy and uneven

  • Examples: Tree bark, sandpaper, rocks

Soft Texture

Feels gentle and fluffy

  • Examples: Cotton, pillow, fur

Hard Texture

Feels solid and firm

  • Examples: Stone, wood, metal

Wet Texture

Feels damp or liquid

  • Examples: Water, wet cloth

Dry Texture

Feels without water

  • Examples: Sand, dry leaves
