The Sūrah in Arabic
فَلْيَعْبُدُوا رَبَّ هَٰذَا الْبَيْتِ Fal-ya’budū rabba hādhā al-bayt
الَّذِي أَطْعَمَهُم مِّن جُوعٍ وَآمَنَهُم مِّنْ خَوْفٍ Alladhī aṭ’amahum min jū’in wa āmanahum min khawf
What It Means in English
Verse 3: “So let them worship the Lord of this House”
Verse 4: “Who fed them when they were hungry and made them safe from fear”
Simple Meaning
Allah’s Command: After reminding the Quraysh about all His blessings, Allah tells them: “You should worship Me!”
Why Should They Worship Allah? Because Allah is:
- The Lord of the Ka’bah (this House)
- The One who feeds them when hungry
- The One who makes them safe from danger
“The Lord of This House”

What is “This House”?
- “This House” means the Ka’bah in Makkah
- It’s the holy house that Allah built for worship
- The Quraysh were its guardians and neighbors
Why is Allah Called “Lord of This House”?
- He owns the Ka’bah
- He protects it
- He chose the Quraysh to take care of it
- Only Allah should be worshipped there
What This Means:
- Don’t worship idols in the Ka’bah
- Worship only Allah, the true owner
- Remember who really gave you everything
Allah’s Two Great Gifts
- Food When Hungry (أَطْعَمَهُم مِّن جُوعٍ)
- Allah gives us food when we are hungry
- He provides for our daily needs
- He makes sure we don’t starve
- All our food comes from Allah
- Safety from Fear (آمَنَهُم مِّنْ خَوْفٍ)
- Allah protects us from enemies
- He keeps us safe in our homes
- He removes our fears and worries
- He gives us peace and security
The Big Message: Since Allah feeds you and protects you, you should worship only Him!
Lessons for Us Today
What Allah Does for Us:
- Gives us food every day
- Gives us water to drink
- Gives us homes to live in
- Protects us from danger
- Gives us families who love us
What We Should Do:
- Thank Allah for everything
- Worship only Allah
- Pray to Allah regularly
- Remember Allah’s blessings
- Share with those who need help
The Simple Truth: The One who feeds us and protects us deserves our worship.
