Learning Objectives: By the end of this lesson, pupils should be able to:

• mention some security agencies in Nigeria
• identify logos of each security agent e.g Police, NSCDC, NDLEA, Nigeria Immigration etc

Lesson Content:

What are Security Agents? Security agents are people whose job is to protect us and keep us safe. They work for the government to make sure bad people don’t hurt us.

Security Agencies in Nigeria:

1. Nigeria Police Force (NPF) – They catch criminals and maintain peace

2. Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) – They protect important places

3. National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) – They stop people from selling bad drugs

4. Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) – They control who enters and leaves Nigeria

5. Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) – They make roads safe for everyone

National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) – They make sure our food and medicine are safe

1. State Security Service (SSS) – They protect important government people
2. Nigerian Armed Forces – They protect our country from enemies

Identifying Security Agencies by Their Logos:

• Police: Blue uniform with “POLICE” written on it
• NSCDC: Green uniform with NSCDC badge
• NDLEA: Brown/khaki uniform with NDLEA logo
• Immigration: Green uniform with eagle logo
• FRSC: White and black uniform with FRSC logo
• SSS: Plain clothes or black uniform
• Army: Green camouflage uniform
• Navy: White or blue uniform
• Air Force: Blue uniform

Why We Need Security Agents:

• To catch thieves and criminals
• To help us when we are in danger
• To make sure we follow the law
• To protect our country
• To keep peace everywhere
