Lesson Content:
NAFDAC – National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control
Full Meaning: N – National A – Agency for F – Food and D – Drug A – Administration and C – Control
NAFDAC Uniform:
- Usually wear regular clothes with NAFDAC identification
- NAFDAC badge or ID card
- Sometimes wear lab coats when testing
- Official NAFDAC vehicles
NDLEA – National Drug Law Enforcement Agency
Full Meaning: N – National D – Drug L – Law E – Enforcement A – Agency
NDLEA Uniform:
- Brown or khaki colored uniform
- NDLEA badge on uniform
- Cap with NDLEA logo
- Official NDLEA vehicles (usually brown and white)
Functions of NAFDAC:
- Food Safety:
- Make sure our food is safe to eat
- Check that food is not spoiled
- Test food for harmful chemicals
- Ensure proper food labeling
- Drug Control:
- Make sure medicines are real and safe
- Stop fake medicines from being sold
- Check that drugs work properly
- Register all medicines before sale
