Lesson Content:

State Security Service (SSS)

What is SSS: The State Security Service is a special security agency that protects important government officials and handles serious security matters for Nigeria.

SSS Identification:

  • Usually wear plain clothes (not uniform)
  • Sometimes wear black uniforms
  • Have special ID cards
  • Work secretly most times
  • Use unmarked vehicles

Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC)

What is NSCDC: The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps protects important places and helps during emergencies. They work with communities to keep everyone safe.

NSCDC Uniform:

  • Color: Green uniform
  • Badge: NSCDC logo and badge
  • Cap: Green cap with NSCDC emblem
  • Equipment: Batons, handcuffs, radio
  • Vehicles: Green and white vehicles

Functions of the State Security Service (SSS):

  1. VIP Protection:
  • Protect the President and his family
  • Guard state governors
  • Protect other important government officials
  • Ensure safety of foreign visitors
