Lesson Content:

What is Conscience?

Conscience is like a small voice inside us that tells us what is right and what is wrong. It’s the feeling we get when we’re about to do something – either good or bad. Your conscience helps you choose between doing the right thing and doing the wrong thing.

How Conscience Works:

Before You Act:

  • Your conscience warns you: “Don’t do that, it’s wrong” or “That’s good, you should do it”
  • It’s like having a teacher inside your heart
  • It helps you think before you act

After You Act:

  • If you did something good, you feel happy and proud
  • If you did something wrong, you feel sad and sorry
  • Your conscience never lies to you

Man’s Possession of Free Will:

What is Free Will? Free will means you have the power to choose what you want to do. God gave every person the ability to decide between good and evil.

Examples of Free Will:

  • You can choose to tell the truth or lie
  • You can choose to help others or ignore them
  • You can choose to obey your parents or disobey them
  • You can choose to study hard or be lazy
  • You can choose to share with others or be selfish

Why Free Will is Important:

  • It makes you responsible for your actions

  • It helps you grow and learn from your choices
  • It makes your good actions more meaningful

  • Affects your health – you might not eat well
  • Makes you avoid people
  • Prevents you from enjoying yourself
  • Makes you want to confess and ask for forgiveness

Feelings When We Do Good – Joy and Peace:
