  • Use traditional laws and customs to make decisions
  • Sometimes involve elders to help make decisions

Why Dispute Settlement is Important:

  • Prevents small problems from becoming big ones
  • Stops people from fighting or hurting each other
  • Maintains friendship and good relationships
  • Ensures justice and fairness for all
  1. ENSURING PEACE:

What is Peace? Peace means living together happily without fighting, quarreling, or causing trouble. It is when everyone feels safe and comfortable.

How Leaders Ensure Peace:

  • Creates unity and cooperation
  1. LINK BETWEEN GOVERNMENT AND COMMUNITY:

What Does This Mean? Community leaders serve as a bridge between the government (people in power) and ordinary people in the community.

How They Serve as Links:

  • Take community problems to government officials
  • Explain government policies to community members
  • Help government programs reach the people
  • Report community needs to higher authorities
  • Invite government officials to community events

Examples of This Role:

  • Telling government about bad roads in the community
  • Explaining new laws to community members
  • Helping with voter registration during elections
