What are Consonant Digraphs?

Two consonant letters that make one sound together.

Common Digraphs

SH Sound: /sh/

• Beginning: ship, shop, shut, shake
• Middle: fishing, wishing, pushing
• End: dish, fish, brush, wash

CH Sound: /ch/

• Beginning: chair, child, church, cheese
• Middle: teacher, kitchen, watching
• End: much, lunch, beach, touch

TH Sound: /th/

• Beginning: think, thank, thick, three
• Middle: mother, father, nothing
• End: math, path, tooth, mouth

PH Sound: /f/

• Beginning: phone, photo, phrase
• Middle: alphabet, elephant, dolphin

2. Sort words by their digraph sounds
3. Write 2 words for each digraph
