Learning Objectives

By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to:

  1. Examine the given pictures and name them
  2. Identify the best colour to use in colouring the given pictures
  3. Colour the given plants adequately

Content

Plant Parts and Their Colors

Leaves: Usually green (light green, dark green, yellow-green) Stems: Green or brown Flowers: Many colors (red, yellow, pink, purple, white, orange) Roots: Brown (usually not visible above ground)

Specific Plant Colors

Pepper Plant:

  • Leaves: Green
  • Stem: Green
  • Peppers: Red, yellow, or green
  • Flowers: White or light purple

Tree:

  • Leaves: Green (summer), yellow/orange/red (autumn), brown (dead)
  • Trunk: Brown or gray
  • Branches: Brown

Grass:

  • Light green to dark green
  • Sometimes yellow if dry

Coloring Tips

  • Use light pressure for even coloring
  • Stay within the lines
  • Choose realistic colors for plants
  • Make leaves different shades of green
  • Add details like veins on leaves
