Friday: Discuss current issues with family and friends

Exercise L – Reading Analysis

Find an argumentative article in a newspaper. Answer these questions:

  1. What is the main topic being argued?
  2. What are the main points supporting one side?
  3. What are the main points supporting the other side?
  4. What is the writer’s final position?
  5. Do you agree with the writer? Why or why not?

Discussion Topics for This Week:

  • Should students use mobile phones in school?
  • Is it better to have many friends or few close friends?
  • Should children help with house chores?
  • Is online learning better than classroom learning?
