This Week’s Spelling Words:

  1. honesty – quality of being truthful
  2. kindness – quality of being kind and caring
  3. darkness – absence of light
  4. weakness – lack of strength
  5. thickness – quality of being thick
  6. brightness – quality of being bright
  7. woodcutter – person who cuts down trees
  8. generosity – quality of being generous
  9. syllable – unit of sound in a word
  10. character – person in a story or play

Exercise I – Dictation Practice

Practice these sentences for Friday’s dictation:

  1. The woodcutter’s honesty impressed the generous river spirit greatly.
  2. Darkness and brightness are opposite qualities that affect our daily lives.
  3. Each character in the play showed different qualities like kindness.
  4. The thickness of the book made it difficult to carry.
