How to Form Adjectives from Nouns:

Common Suffixes:

  • -ous: courage → courageous, danger → dangerous
  • -ic: tragedy → tragic, hero → heroic
  • -y: storm → stormy, rain → rainy
  • -ful: care → careful, hope → hopeful
  • -less: fear → fearless, care → careless
  • -al: nation → national, music → musical
