Learning Objectives: By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to:
- Mention at least five national heroes and heroines
- Arrange pictures of national honor award recipients in a chart
- Identify the award received by each hero/heroine

Famous Nigerian Heroes and Heroines:
- Chief Obafemi Awolowo – GCFR (Premier of Western Region, advocate for free education)

- Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe – GCFR (First President of Nigeria, fought for independence)

- Alhaji Sir Ahmadu Bello – GCFR (Premier of Northern Region, Sardauna of Sokoto)

- Chief Herbert Macaulay – Called “Father of Nigerian Nationalism”

- Queen Amina of Zaria – Warrior queen who expanded Zazzau kingdom

- Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti – Women’s rights activist, mother of Fela Kuti

- Professor Wole Soyinka – Nobel Prize winner in Literature, OFR
