- Respecting others’ opinions: each person accepts that others may think differently.
- Compromise: each side gives up something and they meet halfway.
- Seeking help from elders or leaders: a respected person settles the matter fairly.
- Following rules and laws: everyone obeys the agreed rules.
How can conflicts be avoided?
There are five ways to stop a conflict before it starts.
- Tolerance and patience: stay calm and bear small offences.

- Sharing resources fairly: give everyone a just share.
- Respecting boundaries: keep to your own limits and do not enter another person’s land or space.
- Being honest: telling the truth prevents suspicion and quarrels.
What is the difference between controlling and avoiding conflict?
