Oral comprehension means listening carefully to spoken information and understanding what is being said. Today we practice listening to and talking about ourselves.
Listening Passage: “About Myself”
Teacher reads this passage aloud twice. Students listen carefully:
“My name is Adebayo Temitope. I am twelve years old and I live in Ibadan with my parents and two younger sisters. I am in Primary 6 at Government Primary School, Agodi. My favorite subject is Mathematics because I find numbers very interesting and I am quite good at solving problems.
I am really tall for my age, and I love playing basketball during break time. My friends say I am too serious sometimes, but I think being focused on my studies is very important. I greatly enjoy reading story books, especially adventures and mysteries.
At home, I help my mother with cooking and I take care of my little sisters. I am so excited about going to secondary school next year. My dream is to become an engineer and build beautiful houses for people.”
