The Wise Tortoise

Long ago, in a peaceful village, there lived a boastful hare who constantly bragged about his incredible speed. “Nobody can run faster than me!” he would declare proudly to anyone who would listen.
One sunny morning, the patient tortoise approached the hare. “I challenge you to a race,” he said calmly. The hare burst into laughter. “You must be joking! Your stubby legs can barely carry you!”
All the forest animals gathered to witness this unusual competition. The race began, and the hare immediately zoomed ahead, leaving the tortoise far behind. Confident of victory, the arrogant hare decided to take a nap under a shady tree.
Meanwhile, the determined tortoise continued moving forward steadily. Step by step, he passed the sleeping hare and crossed the finish line first. When the hare finally woke up, he discovered his embarrassing defeat.
“Slow and steady wins the race,” announced the wise tortoise with a gentle smile.
