Revision on Verb Forms – Basic 6 English Lesson Note (First Term)

1. Finite Verbs

These are complete verbs that show time (tense) and can stand alone.

Examples:

• She runs to school every day.
• They played football yesterday.
• We will visit our grandmother tomorrow.

2. Infinite Verbs

These are incomplete verbs that need help from other words. They often start with “to.”

Examples:

• I want to read a book.

• She loves to dance.
• They decided to leave early.

3. Regular and Irregular Verbs

Regular Verbs – add “ed” for past tense:

• walk → walked
• jump → jumped
• play → played

Irregular Verbs – change completely:

• go → went
• eat → ate
• see → saw
