How We are Children of God

God is our heavenly Father, and we are His children because:

God Created Us

• God made every person
• He breathed life into us
• We belong to God’s big family

God Loves Us

• He loves us like a father loves his children
• His love never changes or stops
• He cares for us every day

We Call God “Father”

• Jesus taught us to pray “Our Father”
• We can talk to God like children talk to their daddy
• God listens to us always

God Takes Care of Us

• He gives us food, clothes, and shelter
• He protects us from danger
• He provides everything we need

We Look Like God

• God made us in His image
• We have souls like God
• We can love, think, and choose like God

What it Means to be “In Christ”

Being “in Christ” means:

We Believe in Jesus

• Jesus is God’s Son who came to save us
• We trust Jesus as our Savior
• We follow Jesus every day

Jesus Lives in Our Hearts

• When we accept Jesus, He comes to live inside us
• The Holy Spirit helps us be good
• Jesus makes us new people

We are Part of God’s Family

• All believers are brothers and sisters
• We love and help each other
• We worship God together

We Have New Life

• Our sins are forgiven
• We can live like Jesus
• We will go to heaven one day

We Act Like Jesus

• We love others like Jesus loves us
• We help people who need help
• We obey God’s commandments

What Should be a Model Family

A good Christian family should have:

Love for Each Other

• Parents love their children
• Children love their parents
• Everyone is kind and caring

Love for God

• The family prays together
• They read the Bible together
• They go to church together

Good Communication

• Family members talk to each other nicely
• They listen when others speak
• They solve problems peacefully

Respect and Obedience

• Children obey their parents
• Parents treat children fairly
• Everyone respects each other

Helping Each Other

• Family members help with chores
• They share what they have
• They support each other in hard times

Forgiveness

• They say “sorry” when they do wrong
• They forgive each other quickly
• They don’t stay angry for long

Serving Others

• The family helps neighbors
• They give to people in need
• They show God’s love to others
