Ways God Speaks to Us

God talks to us in many different ways:

• Through the Bible – God’s written words
• Through prayer – When we talk and listen to God
• Through dreams – Special messages while we sleep
• Through other people – Pastors, parents, and friends
• Through our hearts – When we feel God’s love inside
• Through nature – Beautiful things God made
• Through miracles – Amazing things only God can do

Why God Speaks to Us

God talks to us because:

• He loves us – God wants to be close to us
• To guide us – Show us the right way to live
• To comfort us – Make us feel better when sad
• To teach us – Help us learn about Him
• To warn us – Keep us away from danger
• To give us hope – Make us feel happy and strong
• To call us – Ask us to do special work for Him

How God Spoke to Jacob

Jacob’s Dream Story:

Jacob was traveling to a far place. When night came, he was very tired. He used a stone as his pillow and went to sleep.

God’s Message:

• Jacob had a special dream
• He saw a ladder reaching from earth to heaven
• Angels were going up and down the ladder
• God stood at the top of the ladder
• God promised to bless Jacob and his family
• God said He would always be with Jacob

Jacob’s Response:

• When Jacob woke up, he was amazed
• He said “God is in this place!”
• He built an altar to worship God
• He promised to serve God always

What We Learn:

• God can speak to us anywhere
• God keeps His promises
• We should listen when God speaks
• We should worship God when He talks to us
