Topic: Attitude to Show When God Speaks

What is Attitude?

Attitude means the way we think, feel, and act about something.

Examples of attitude:

Good attitude – Being happy, kind, and respectful

Bad attitude – Being angry, rude, and disobedient

Your attitude shows in your face, words, and actions

Simple meaning: Attitude is how you behave and what you show on the outside.

Our Attitude When God Speaks

When God talks to us, we should show these good attitudes:

  • Listen Carefully
  • Be quiet and pay attention
  • Don’t talk when God is speaking
  • Use our ears and heart to hear Him

Show Respect

Remember God is holy and great

Bow our heads or kneel down

Speak politely to God

Be Humble

Know that God is bigger than us

Don’t be proud or stubborn

Accept what God tells us

Obey Quickly

Do what God asks us to do

Don’t argue or complain

Say “Yes, Lord” like Samuel did

Be Thankful

Say “Thank you” to God for talking to us

Feel happy that God loves us

Praise God for His goodness

Have Faith

Believe what God says is true

Trust that God knows what’s best

Don’t doubt God’s words

Reasons God Speaks to Us

God talks to us for these important reasons:

To Show His Love

God loves us like a father loves his children

He wants us to know He cares about us

He wants to be our friend

To Guide Us

Show us the right way to live

Help us make good choices

Keep us on the right path

To Teach Us

Help us learn about Him

Show us what is right and wrong

Make us wise

To Comfort Us

Make us feel better when we are sad

Give us peace when we are worried

Help us when we are afraid

To Warn Us

Keep us away from danger

Stop us from doing wrong things

Protect us from harm

To Give Us Work

Ask us to help other people

Use us to do good things

Make us His helpers

Bible Example: Samuel

When God called Samuel as a little boy:

Samuel listened carefully

He was respectful and humble

He said “Speak, Lord, your servant is listening”

He obeyed what God told him

Remember

Always show a good attitude when God speaks

Listen with your heart, not just your ears

Be ready to obey God’s voice

Thank God for loving you enough to speak to you
