PRESENT PERFECT WITH “SINCE” AND “FOR”

Pattern: have/has + past participle + since/for

Use “SINCE” with specific time:

• I have studied here since January.
• She has been my friend since last year.
• We have lived here since 2020.

Use “FOR” with period of time:

• I have studied here for three months.
• She has been my friend for two years.
• We have lived here for five years.

Examples with classroom:

• I have sat in this chair since Monday.
• We have used this classroom for one term.
• The teacher has taught us since September.
• Our class has been clean for many days.
