Content
“Jack and Jill” Poem
Jack and Jill went up the hill
To fetch a pail of water.
Jack fell down and broke his crown,
And Jill came tumbling after.
Vocabulary
- fetch – to go and get something
- pail – a bucket for carrying water
- crown – here it means his head
- tumbling – falling and rolling
Story Analysis
Characters: Jack and Jill (two children) Setting: A hill with water at the top Problem: Jack falls and hurts his head Action: Jill also falls after Jack

- Children working together (fetching water)
- Accidents can happen (Jack falls)
