Topic: Understanding the CPU
What is a CPU?

CPU means Central Processing Unit. It is the brain of the computer. Just like our brain helps us think, the CPU helps the computer think and work.
Where is the CPU?
- The CPU is inside the system unit (the big box of the computer)
- We cannot see it from outside
- It is a small, flat piece with many tiny parts
- It is very important for the computer to work
What Does the CPU Do?
The CPU is Like Our Brain:
- It thinks for the computer
- It solves problems
- It makes decisions
- It controls all parts of the computer
The CPU Helps the Computer:
- Understand what we type on the keyboard
- Show pictures on the monitor
- Play sounds through speakers
- Save our work and games
The CPU Works Very Fast:
- It can do millions of things in one second
- Much faster than humans can think
- Never gets tired like we do
- Works as long as the computer is on
Taking Care of the CPU
The CPU Needs:
- To stay cool (it gets hot when working)
- Clean air to breathe (like we need clean air)
- Electricity to work
- To be handled gently
We Should:
- Keep the computer in a cool place
- Not block the air holes on the system unit
- Turn off the computer properly
- Not shake or hit the system unit
Class Exercise
- What does CPU stand for?
- Where is the CPU located?
- How is the CPU like our brain?
- What should we do to take care of the CPU?
