PROCESS OF CHOREOGRAPHY 

Choreography is the sequence of steps and movements in dance. Choreography is the art of arranging dance movements for a dance performance. Choreography is the art of planning and arranging the movements steps, and patterns of dancers. 

PROCESS OF CHOREOGRAPHY 

1. Conception of the dance idea 
2. Gathering of the movement 
3. Putting and arranging the movement by teaching the dancers 
4. Creating the final structure and polishing it for performance. 

HOW TO CHOREOGRAPH A DANCE 

1. Select a style that suits you. This can be from folk to hip-hop to jazz etc. 
2. Choose a song that complements your style 
3. Compile a list of steps that would work for your chosen song and style. 
4. Listen to the song carefully and identify sections 
5. Identify the melody flow and rhythm of your chosen song 
6. Dance to the flow and rhythm 
7. Identify the steps you make that suit the song and write it down 
8. Outline the steps footwork down and add details such as arm movement. 
9. Practice the footwork and step over and over again.
